A Risca United side, that looked young enough to be a school eleven provided tough opposition for the bluebirds. A win and second spot in the League, after a disjointed performance is the consolation. Apart from that, players and management will probably want to forget it.
It must be said that the side has undergone a tough series of matches in recent weeks and that this programme finally took its toll on the team as they seemed unable to get the ball down and play in the way that has characterised their charge up the Welsh League.
Ricky Watts, who has been a feature of the dynamic recent performances was missing for this game, having taken a knock against Barry Town in Midweek. The blues will be hoping he returns to fitness for the visit to third placed Goytre on Saturday.
