On Sunday 6th September, Haverfordwest Ladies traveled to Camrose to play the first local derby in 10 years. Camrose came out on top with a 4-1 victory. Once again Niamh Mathias scored the goal for Haverfordwest within the first minute. The first half saw two strong sides clashing hard with some physical battles in midfield. Haverfordwest were 3-1 down at half time with 1 goal from Camrose being well offside and 2 well struck goals from distance.
Second half saw a rearranged team which saw the bluebirds ladies looking stronger going forward. Haverfordwest created enough chances to win with 4 shots over the bar and 3 going wide. The team played well against a very strong seasoned Camrose side who will be playing in a league higher this season. Sarah Stanley was voted player of the match by Camrose and we wish them luck for the coming season.
It would be nice to see Pembrokeshire winners of both leagues.
